Zheti-Oguz is a picturesque mountain gorge in Kyrgyzstan, 28 km west of the city of Karakol (formerly Przhevalsk) along the southern shore of Issyk-Kul.<\/p>\n
The Jety-Oguz Gorge is located in the floodplain of the river of the same name on the northern slope of the Terskey Ala-Too ridge, skirting Lake Issyk-Kul from the south. Jety-Oguz (translated from Kyrgyz \u2014 “seven bulls”) got its name from a chain of weathered red rocks resembling bulls lying on the ground and are the hallmark of the gorge.
