Since 2016, with the support of the Ministry of Tourism Development, St. Petersburg has hosted 2 Light Festivals one in spring (April) and the other in autumn (November). With the help of modern 3D lighting devices, colorful visual effects are projected on the architectural monuments of the city, accompanied by music. This light performance attracts thousands of viewers. Such masterpiece buildings as St. Isaac’s Cathedral, the Mariinsky Palace, monuments to Peter I, the Bronze Horseman and Nicholas I became the scenes for the show. The project embodies the best European experience of lighting design and 3D technologies and has become a real St. Petersburg brand with a generally recognizable style that is in tune with the city’s traditions and soul. Music, colors and the skill of light artists create an incredible atmosphere of unforgettable action.
In April 2017, the venue for the show was the new building of the St Petersburg Arena Stadium. naturally, the main theme of the installation was football, the history of its development in the world and Russia. In the autumn of the same year, in honor of the 100th anniversary of the revolution, the festival covered three stages: the Main headquarters, The Winter Palace and the Cruiser Aurora, in total, it was watched by more than a million viewers.
