Orlov at the end of the XVIII century. Various types of trees and shrubs were used to create the Park. Another feature of the Park is the abundance of freshwater birds, as well as a pond with live carp. Here you can go boating, watching ducks, dives, and swans in their natural habitat. In May-June, you can see birds nesting on the water, which can please fans of flora and fauna. Here you can also visit the famous Great Gatchina Palace with its mystical underground passages and the famous grotto built by count Orlov for entertainment. There are many legends and myths around this grotto.

In addition to all this beauty you can also admire the Venus pavilion, which was built by the Florentine architect Vincenzo Brenna. Prince Peter Petrovich decided to raise this pavilion after a wedding trip to Europe. Inspired by the castle of Chantilly in France, Peter decided to build the Venus pavilion in the Gatchina parks. This attraction is also shrouded in various legends. The building stands directly on the shore of the White lake, the walls are decorated with picturesque panels and paintings in the technique of grisaille, the floor is laid with parquet with an elegant patterns.
